UK interest rates and inflation from Bank of England and ONS series
The Bank of England's Official Bank Rate, the SONIA overnight benchmark and the ONS consumer prices annual rate. These are published statistical series, not offers from any institution.
Policy rate and overnight benchmark
The Official Bank Rate is the rate the Monetary Policy Committee sets; it is a single effective-dated figure, shown with the last decision that moved it. SONIA is the wholesale overnight benchmark the Bank of England administers, observed each London business day. A policy rate is not the same thing as the benchmark and the two are not interchangeable.
Consumer prices
The Consumer Prices Index annual rate, the twelve-month change in the all-items index. It is a fact about a stated reference month and falls behind when the next month is released rather than decaying in between.

A policy rate or benchmark is not an offer. No UK savings, mortgage or credit-card product appears on this page, and the rate available to a saver or borrower differs with the institution, the product and its conditions.
