State Pension age depends on date of birth. The legislated rise from 66 to 67 is phased across birth-date bands, with intermediate ages expressed in years and months.

The current transition
DWP’s timetable records State Pension age as the 66th birthday for people born from 6 October 1954 to 5 April 1960. Under the Pensions Act 2014, the rise from 66 to 67 takes place between 2026 and 2028 for men and women. During that transition, there is no single age that describes every birth-date band. People born from 6 April 1960 to 5 March 1961 reach State Pension age at 66 years plus the number of months specified in the table. The first band, 6 April to 5 May 1960, has an age of 66 years and 1 month; the last band, 6 February to 5 March 1961, has an age of 66 years and 11 months. Age 67 and calendar details
