The Merdeka Generation Package provides additional outpatient and MediShield Life subsidies, with dated CareShield Life joining incentives.

Who qualifies
MOH lists Singapore citizens born from 1 January 1950 to 31 December 1959 who became citizens on or before 31 December 1996. It also includes citizens born on or before 31 December 1949 who became citizens by 31 December 1996 and did not receive the Pioneer Generation Package. Outpatient benefits
At polyclinics and public specialist outpatient clinics, the additional subsidy is 25% off the remaining bill for subsidised services and medications. Public specialist outpatient subsidies require an eligible referral. CHAS subsidies cover common illnesses up to S$23.50 per visit, a simple chronic condition up to S$85 per visit capped at S$340 annually, and complex chronic conditions up to S$130 per visit capped at S$520 annually. Dental, screening and Healthier SG
The selected dental procedure subsidy range effective from Q4 2025 is S$16 to S$620, depending on the procedure. Healthier SG Screening has a S$2 fixed fee for Merdeka Generation seniors not enrolled under Healthier SG. Enrollees receive special screening and vaccination subsidies at their enrolled provider and may receive enhanced subsidies for selected chronic medications under the Healthier SG Chronic Tier. MediShield Life and the dated joining incentive
The additional MediShield Life premium subsidy is 5%, increasing to 10% from age 76, regardless of household income or home Annual Value, on top of other applicable premium subsidies. MOH lists S$4,000 in CareShield Life participation incentives for joining by 31 December 2023 and S$3,000 for joining from 1 January to 31 December 2024, spread over ten years to offset annual premiums.
