Nationality, residence and care needs

AIC requires the care recipient to be a Singapore Citizen or a Permanent Resident with a living Singapore Citizen parent, child or spouse. The recipient must live in Singapore and not in a residential long-term care institution. They must permanently require some assistance with at least three of the six activities of daily living and undergo disability assessment. AIC, Home Caregiving Grant (opens in a new tab).

Monthly payout bands

The published monthly household income per person bands are S$0–S$1,500 for a S$600 payout, S$1,501–S$3,600 for S$400, and S$3,601–S$4,800 for S$200. Multiple property owners receive the lowest S$200 tier. For households without income, the payout table gives S$600 at property Annual Value of S$21,000 or below; AIC's eligibility table separately says Annual Value must be under S$21,000. How means are assessed

AIC uses household monthly income per person when there is household income, dividing total gross monthly household income by family members living together at the NRIC address. Gross income includes employment and trade income, overtime, allowances, cash awards, commissions and bonuses. Without household income, property Annual Value is used instead. Subsidy levels in 2026 use 2025 Annual Values. AIC, Home Caregiving Grant (opens in a new tab).

Assessment and grant use

A General Practitioner or approved healthcare professional can use the Functional Assessment Report. Autism Spectrum Disorder or Intellectual Disability assessment can use a Client Assessment Form with an approved assessor. A severe disability assessment for an application to the listed severe disability schemes, including CareShield Life, is sufficient for HCG assessment without a separate Functional Assessment Report. The grant can help with care needs such as a helper, home care services or healthcare items. AIC, Home Caregiving Grant (opens in a new tab).
