Investment return calculator
What an investment actually returned, per year, once distributions are counted.

Total return against annualised
Doubling your money over ten years is not a 100% annual return. The annualised figure is the constant yearly rate that would have produced the same result, and it is the number worth comparing between investments held for different lengths of time.
annualised = (proceeds ÷ invested) ^ (1 ÷ years) − 1
1Proceeds = Value now + distributions retained as cash, not already included in Value now
2Years is the full holding period, including part years
Common questions
How do I enter reinvested distributions?
Cash received is distributions retained as cash outside the investment. Value now includes the value of any reinvested units. Do not enter those distributions again as cash: that would double-count them. If all distributions were reinvested, enter 0 for Cash received. This calculator does not model distribution timing or reinvestment separately, so it cannot tell you whether reinvesting improved your return.
