The scheme and its end date

The Large Families Scheme by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) aims to strengthen support for Singaporeans who have three or more children, building on the Baby Bonus Scheme. No registration is required; MSF assesses eligibility once a child is enrolled in the Baby Bonus Scheme. LifeSG states that the SG Child Support Package announced at the 2026 National Day Rally will replace the Baby Bonus Scheme and the Large Families Scheme. The increased CDA First Step Grant for large families will cease from April 2027. As Child Credits will be given to all eligible children under the Package, Large Family LifeSG Credits will also cease, with no disbursements in 2027. Increased CDA First Step Grant

A child of third or subsequent birth order born on or after 18 February 2025 receives an increased CDA First Step Grant bringing the total to S$10,000. This is an increase of S$5,000 over the standard Baby Bonus amount. The full amount is credited automatically if at least one parent is a Singapore Citizen at the time of birth; it is pro-rated if both parents are non-citizens and the child later becomes a Singapore Citizen. The grant is paid into the Child Development Account around two weeks after the CDA is opened and can be used for preschool and healthcare expenses for the child and their siblings. Large Family MediSave Grant

A third or subsequent child born on or after 18 February 2025 qualifies for a Large Family MediSave Grant of up to S$5,000 paid into the mother's CPF MediSave Account. The mother is the default recipient if she is alive, is the biological or adoptive parent, and is a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident. If the mother does not qualify, the child is the recipient. The grant can be used for MediShield Life premiums, childhood vaccinations, hospitalisation and approved outpatient treatments. Large Family LifeSG Credits

Each third or subsequent child qualifies for S$1,000 annually in Large Family LifeSG Credits from the year the child turns one to the year they turn six. The credits are disbursed every April to the child's CDA trustee in MSF records. For children aged 1 to 6 in 2025, the first disbursement was from 10 September 2025. Eligibility is assessed each year by 1 March. LFLC can be spent via PayNow UEN QR at over 164,000 merchants or NETS QR at over 35,000 merchants, covering groceries, utilities, pharmacy items and transport.
