Three payout shapes
The Escalating Plan starts with lower payouts that increase over time. The Standard Plan provides steady payouts. The Basic Plan provides lower payouts that can reduce later as combined CPF balances fall. These descriptions explain the structure of the plans; they are not a ranking or a recommendation. When payouts begin
CPF LIFE payouts can start at a member-selected age between 65 and 70. Payouts start automatically at age 70 if the member has not instructed CPF Board about their payouts by then. Starting age is a separate choice from the plan's payout pattern, and both affect the payout comparison. CPF Board, CPF LIFE payout starting age (opens in a new tab).
What a payout comparison needs
All three plans provide payouts for life. A plan label alone does not determine an individual's payout amount. CPF Board, CPF LIFE plans (opens in a new tab).
