One holding limit across accounts
The individual limit is S$200,000 across cash and SRS holdings combined. The minimum investment is S$500, with subsequent investment amounts in multiples of S$500. MAS, Savings Bonds FAQs, March 2026 (opens in a new tab).
Interest follows the issue's schedule
Savings Bonds run for up to 10 years. The step-up structure provides interest that increases over time, although MAS may adjust rates so that interest payments do not step down in any year. Each issue has its own published schedule. MAS, Singapore Savings Bonds (opens in a new tab).
Monthly redemption is not instant access
Bonds can be redeemed in any month without an early-exit penalty. Principal and accrued interest are returned by the second business day of the following month. MAS, Singapore Savings Bonds (opens in a new tab).
Fees remain separate
Banks charge S$2 for each application or redemption transaction. No early-exit penalty therefore does not mean redemption is free. MAS, Savings Bonds FAQs, March 2026 (opens in a new tab).
