What the limit combines

SDIC administers the Deposit Insurance Scheme. Eligible Singapore dollar savings, fixed and current accounts and Supplementary Retirement Scheme monies share a S$100,000 aggregate limit per depositor per Scheme member. Multiple accounts at the same member do not each receive that limit. SDIC, Deposit Insurance FAQs (opens in a new tab).

Separate CPF treatment

CPF Investment Scheme and CPF Retirement Sum Scheme monies are aggregated separately and insured up to S$100,000. Trust and client accounts have separate per-account coverage. SDIC, Deposit Insurance FAQs (opens in a new tab).

What is covered and excluded

Eligible Singapore dollar deposits placed at a Scheme member's Singapore branches are covered. Foreign currency deposits, structured deposits and investments such as unit trusts, shares and other securities are excluded. SDIC, scope of deposit insurance (opens in a new tab).
